II Samuel 16:14
The king and all the people with him
arrived at their destination exhausted.
And there he refreshed himself.
Sometimes we have experiences that are exhausting mentally,
emotionally or spiritually, but those experiences do not have to keep us from
“keeping on keeping on.” We can keep
moving in the right direction toward our goal of knowing God more and of
growing spiritually. That’s what David
did. It was exhausting enough to be
traveling under the duress of danger from Absalom but then to have this man
Shimei cursing and ranting and raving and stone throwing was also exhausting
mentally and emotionally. David just
kept traveling towards his goal, even though he arrived exhausted. BUT when he got to his destination he took
some time to get refreshed. That
opportunity will come, so I need to keep traveling no matter what happens,
until God provides an opportunity to get refreshed.
