Rainbow anniversary

 I have really enjoyed following the Alphabet Challenge Blog over recent months but have been putting off entering a card until they got back to the "A's" again and that is this week.  I've been wanting to make a casual style anniversary card for a young couple as well as make another rainbow-style card, so I combined the two with this result:

I stamped the "happy" in several colors and to make it more casual, I added the "anniversary" in rather casual style on the side.

Rainbow and bird hello

I have had this multi-hello stamp for a long time and have loved using it.  It is a Stampabilities stamp from 2012 and I just never tire of using it!  I think it is because it can be doctored up to be either whimsical OR more formal, depending upon the background I use.  This week I thought I would try it over a rustic rainbow of gelato colors to make a cheerful and fun card.  After I put down the gelatos and smeared them just a tad, I heat embossed the greeting using some turquoise embossing powder, then I added those cute little bird brads.  I have a recipient already in mind for this!
I am going to enter this in the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.

Rainbows

Genesis 9:17 God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

I was thinking about the rainbow that God created as a perpetual sign to mankind (and all the animals!) of His promise.  As I thought about the beauty of that rainbow that enamors us every time a rainbow appears, I started thinking about how each color in the rainbow carries some special significance to me concerning me relationship with God:
Red reminds me of LOVE … God’s love for me that has no limitation;
Orange reminds me of JOY … God promises everlasting joy to me as I follow Him now and in eternity;
Yellow reminds me of GOD HIMSELF … the center of the colors and the source and center of all life;
Green reminds me of GROWTH … my spiritual growth promised to me if I continue to follow and obey God;
Blue reminds me of PEACE … the peace that passes all understanding;
Purple reminds me of ROYALTY … God is King of Kings and I am part of the “royal priesthood” of believers.
I think that from now on when I see a rainbow it is going to have an even stronger effect on me!
